Selank: A Tuftsin-Derived Heptapeptide in Preclinical Research

Selank (TP-7) is a synthetic heptapeptide with the sequence Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro. Its design builds on tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), an endogenous immunomodulatory tetrapeptide, by appending a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro extension that improves metabolic stability and prolongs the biological half-life of the parent molecule. Selank was first synthesized at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Tuftsin is a naturally occurring tetrapeptide generated by enzymatic processing of the Fc region of immunoglobulin G (IgG), specifically through the action of spleen tuftsin endocarboxypeptidase. Laboratory investigations have attributed immunomodulatory properties to tuftsin, including stimulation of phagocytic activity and enhancement of natural killer cell function in experimental systems.

Published preclinical work has probed the effects of Selank on several biological pathways using cell culture and animal model platforms:

Each MyPeptide reference page is organized around product identity, documentation, and research context rather than medical claims, dosing instructions, or personal-use outcomes.

Use the related links on this page to move between the catalog, COA records, policy pages, and supporting research guides while staying within the research-use-only scope.

Batch documentation, product identity, and compliance context are kept close together so qualified purchasers can review the material before continuing through the storefront.
